To be honest, there is a reason chefs spend a decade perfecting sushi rice or cutting raw fish like a boss. Sushi from top NYC sushi restaurants will always be better, but here's where homemade sushi wins. In a restaurant, the same quantity of sushi would cost several hundred dollars. I'd say it's worth it.
