Ingredients

  • 500g boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces - 6.3 package
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste - 9.6 mg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice - 2.0 oz
  • 1 tsp salt - 8.0 cup
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder - 3.4 qt
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste) - 3.3 ml
  • 1 tsp garam masala - 5.3 mg
  • 2 tbsp butter - 2.6 qt
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped - 2.4 cup
  • 2 cups tomato puree - 2.8 tsp

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the diced chicken with ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.

Step 2

Prepare the Chicken: Preheat your oven's broiler. Place the marinated chicken pieces on a baking sheet lined with foil. Broil for about 8-10 minutes, or until the chicken is slightly charred.

Step 3

Make the Sauce: In a large pan or pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.

Step 4

Add Spices and Tomato: Add tomato puree, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves). Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the oil separates from the sides.

Step 5

Simmer the Chicken: Add the broiled chicken pieces to the sauce. Stir well to coat the chicken with the sauce. Add fresh cream and mix gently.

Step 6

Final Touches: Simmer for another 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.

Step 7

Serve: Serve hot with naan bread, roti, or basmati rice. Enjoy your homemade Butter Chicken!
