Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a small saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and whole milk.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
Once the mixture starts to simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it cook uncovered, stirring occasionally. Cook for 25-30 minutes or until the rice is tender and the pudding has thickened.
Optional: Add a teaspoon of sugar and a quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract during the last 5 minutes of cooking for a touch of sweetness and flavor.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the rice pudding cool to a baby-friendly temperature.
Serve the Tender Rice Clouds in small baby-friendly bowls.
