  • fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved - 1.5 cup
  • honey or maple syrup - 0.3 cup
  • milk (dairy or non-dairy) - 1.5 cup
  • plain Greek yogurt - 0.5 cup
  • egg - 1.0 whole
  • pure vanilla extract - 1.0 tsp
  • ground cinnamon - 0.5 tsp
  • salt - 0.3 tsp
  • sliced almonds (optional, for garnish) - 0.3 cup

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 F (175 C). Grease a baking dish or ovenproof skillet.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, ground cinnamon, and salt.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey or maple syrup, milk, Greek yogurt, egg, and pure vanilla extract until well combined.

Step 4

Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir until everything is well incorporated.

Step 5

Gently fold in the pitted and halved cherries, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Step 6

Pour the oatmeal mixture into the prepared baking dish or skillet, spreading it out evenly.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown, and the oats are set.

Step 8

If desired, garnish the baked oats with sliced almonds and fresh cherries for added texture and visual appeal.
