Besan Ladoo is a traditional Indian sweet made with roasted gram flour, ghee, and sugar. It has a nutty and slightly crunchy texture and is often garnished with chopped nuts.

Ingredients

  • gram flour (besan) - 2.0 cup
  • ghee - 0.8 cup
  • powdered sugar - 1.0 cup
  • cardamom powder - 0.5 tsp
  • Chopped nuts - 1.0 as needed

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Begin by roasting the gram flour in a heavy-bottomed pan on low heat. Stir continuously to prevent burning until the flour turns golden brown and fragrant.

Step 2

Add the ghee to the pan and mix well. Keep stirring until the mixture comes together and starts to leave the sides of the pan.

Step 3

Remove the pan from the heat and let the mixture cool down for a few minutes.

Step 4

Add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder to the mixture and mix well.

Step 5

Take a small amount of the mixture in your palm and shape it into a ball. Repeat this process until all the mixture is used up.

Step 6

Garnish each ladoo with some chopped nuts.

Step 7

Let the Besan Ladoos cool down completely before storing them in an airtight container.
