Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour - 10.1 whole
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast - 0.7 whole
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1.4 to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar - 7.1 cup
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil - 2.8 pt
  • 1/2 cup warm water - 9.4 oz
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes - 8.9 mg
  • 1 clove garlic, minced - 4.8 ml
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt - 4.3 fl oz
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar - 6.2 pt

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Prepare the pizza dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, sugar and olive oil. Add warm water and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 2

Let the dough rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Step 3

Prepare the tomato sauce: In a saucepan, combine crushed tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt, sugar, and oregano. Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (246°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven while it preheats.

Step 5

Assemble the pizza: Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface. Transfer it to a pizza peel or baking sheet.

Step 6

Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Step 7

Bake the pizza: Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 8

Garnish and serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve immediately.
