It's an elegant and satisfying treat that's surprisingly easy to make at home. The layers of coffee and cream create a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that will impress your guests. Tiramisu is perfect for any occasion, from a simple family dinner to a special celebration. This recipe provides a detailed guide to creating a truly authentic and delicious tiramisu. Enjoy the process of layering the ingredients and savoring each delightful bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups strong brewed espresso, cooled - 10.2 lb
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional) - 2.4 gal
  • 1 pound mascarpone cheese, softened - 7.4 ml
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar - 6.5 mg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 2.7 box
  • 1 cup heavy cream - 3.8 box
  • 1 (12-ounce) package ladyfingers - 2.5 fl oz
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting - 3.9 jar
8 Servings

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Brew strong espresso and let it cool slightly. In a shallow dish, mix the cooled espresso with the coffee liqueur (if using).

Step 2

In a large bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Step 3

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 4

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a baking dish.

Step 5

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers. Sprinkle a layer of cocoa powder over the cream.

Step 6

Repeat layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cocoa powder. Ensure the top layer is cocoa powder.

Step 7

Cover the tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 8

Before serving, dust the top with additional cocoa powder. Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy!
