This dish is a celebration of flavors and textures, perfect for a cozy night in or a sophisticated dinner party. The rich, creamy sauce perfectly complements the al dente pasta and the savory sausage. Fresh basil adds a touch of freshness, creating a truly unforgettable culinary experience. The dish can be further enhanced with a sprinkle of parmesan or a dash of red pepper flakes for those who enjoy a little heat. Consider serving it with a side of garlic bread to soak up every last bit of the delicious sauce. Feel free to experiment with different types of sausage to customize the dish to your liking. Adding a splash of white wine to the sauce can also elevate the flavors even further.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (such as penne or rigatoni) - 8.4 drop
  • 1 pound Italian sausage - 5.7 bottle
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced - 3.5 bottle
  • 1 cup heavy cream - 1.0 pcs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese - 1.1 lb
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped - 6.6 quarter
  • Salt and pepper to taste - 8.4 qt
4 Servings

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Step 2

While pasta is cooking, remove sausage from casings and crumble into a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain off any excess grease.

Step 3

Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 4

Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 5

Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.

Step 6

Stir in fresh basil. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired.

Step 7

Serve hot and garnish with extra parmesan.
