Shakkarpara is a sweet and crunchy Indian snack made with flour, sugar, and ghee. It is often flavored with cardamom powder and is a popular festival snack.

Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour - 2.0 cup
  • ghee - 0.5 cup
  • sugar - 0.5 cup
  • cardamom powder - 0.5 tsp
  • salt - 1.0 pinch
  • Oil - 1.0 as needed

Cooking Steps

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, ghee, sugar, cardamom powder, and salt.

Step 2

Mix well until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3

Gradually add water to the mixture and knead it into a smooth and soft dough.

Step 4

Divide the dough into small portions and roll them out into thin circles.

Step 5

Cut the rolled-out dough into small diamond shapes using a knife or a cookie cutter.

Step 6

Heat oil for deep-frying in a pan on medium heat.

Step 7

Once the oil is hot, carefully add the Shakkarpara to the oil and fry until they turn golden brown on both sides.

Step 8

Remove the Shakkarpara from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.

Step 9

Let the Shakkarpara cool down completely before storing them in an airtight container.
