Fresh and Flavorful Spring Rolls are a delightful combination of fresh vegetables, fragrant herbs, and a protein of your choice, all neatly wrapped in translucent rice paper. The filling options are versatile and can include ingredients such as shrimp, chicken, tofu, or simply an array of colorful vegetables. The rolls are then served with a dipping sauce, elevating their taste and adding an extra layer of tanginess. These spring rolls are not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavor and texture, making them a delightful and healthy appetizer or light meal.

Ingredients

  • round rice paper wrappers - 12.0 pcs
  • protein of your choice (shrimp, chicken, tofu, etc.), cooked and sliced into thin strips - 8.0 oz
  • thinly sliced vegetables (carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, lettuce, etc.) - 2.0 cup
  • fresh herbs (mint, cilantro, Thai basil, etc.) - 1.0 cup
  • cooked rice vermicelli noodles (optional) - 0.5 cup
  • soy sauce - 0.3 cup
  • rice vinegar - 2.0 tbsp
  • honey or maple syrup - 1.0 tbsp
  • garlic, minced - 1.0 whole
  • grated fresh ginger - 0.5 tsp

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients by slicing the protein, vegetables, and herbs into thin strips.

Step 2

Fill a shallow bowl or pie dish with warm water.

Step 3

Dip one rice paper wrapper into the warm water for a few seconds until it becomes soft and pliable. Be careful not to oversoak the wrapper, as it will continue to soften as you assemble the spring roll.

Step 4

Place the softened rice paper on a clean, damp kitchen towel or non-stick surface.

Step 5

Arrange a few strips of protein, a handful of sliced vegetables, a small portion of rice

Step 6

Fold the sides of the rice paper inward, then tightly roll the wrapper from the bottom, tucking in the filling as you go. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.

Step 7

For the dipping sauce, in a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.

Step 8

Serve the Fresh and Flavorful Spring Rolls with the dipping sauce on the side.

Step 9

Optionally, garnish with chopped peanuts, sesame seeds, or sliced green onions for added flavor and texture.
