This classic Italian dish is a symphony of flavors and textures. Tender gnocchi, made from potatoes and flour, are bathed in a rich and creamy Gorgonzola sauce, creating a comforting and satisfying meal. The sharpness of the Gorgonzola is balanced by the sweetness of the cream, creating a harmonious and decadent experience. Toasted walnuts add a delightful crunch and nutty flavor, complementing the creamy sauce beautifully. A sprinkle of fresh parsley adds a touch of freshness and visual appeal, making this dish a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Gnocchi Gorgonzola is perfect for a cozy night in or a special occasion, offering a taste of Italy in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 500g gnocchi (fresh or packaged) - 8.6 cm
  • 50g butter - 1.8 half
  • 250ml heavy cream - 8.9 lb
  • 150g Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled - 1.5 cup
  • 50g walnuts, roughly chopped - 6.5 inch
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped - 4.7 qt
  • Salt and black pepper to taste - 7.2 jar
4 Servings

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Cook the gnocchi according to package directions. Usually, this involves boiling them in salted water until they float to the surface.

Step 2

While the gnocchi are cooking, prepare the Gorgonzola sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the heavy cream to the melted butter and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low.

Step 4

Crumble the Gorgonzola cheese into the cream sauce. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of milk or pasta water to thin it out.

Step 5

Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Be careful with the salt, as Gorgonzola cheese can be quite salty.

Step 6

Drain the cooked gnocchi and add them to the saucepan with the Gorgonzola sauce. Gently toss to coat the gnocchi evenly.

Step 7

Toast the walnuts in a dry pan over medium heat until fragrant and lightly browned. Roughly chop them.

Step 8

Serve the Gnocchi Gorgonzola immediately, garnished with toasted walnuts and fresh parsley.

It was okay. The sauce was a bit too heavy for my liking, but the gnocchi was cooked well. The walnuts were a nice touch.

The sauce was a bit too thick for my liking, but the gnocchi was well-cooked. The walnuts were a nice touch. Could be better with some adjustments.
