Ingredients

  • pizza dough - 1.0 lb
  • pizza sauce - 0.5 cup
  • shredded mozzarella cheese - 1.5 cup
  • cooked and crumbled Italian sausage - 0.5 cup
  • sliced bell peppers - 0.3 cup
  • sliced onions - 0.3 cup
  • olive oil - 1.0 tbsp
  • dried basil - 1.0 tsp
  • garlic powder - 0.5 tsp
  • salt - 1.0 pinch

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Preheat your oven to the temperature specified on your pizza dough packaging (usually around 450F or 230C).

Step 2

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer the dough to a pizza stone, baking sheet, or pizza pan.

Step 3

Brush the surface of the dough with olive oil, ensuring an even coating.

Step 4

Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.

Step 5

Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

Step 6

Distribute the cooked and crumbled sausage evenly over the cheese.

Step 7

If desired, add sliced bell peppers and onions for extra flavor and texture.

Step 8

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the toppings.

Step 9

Combine dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture over the cheese.

Step 10

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake according to the dough package instructions or until the crust is golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once cooked, carefully remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute before slicing.

Slice the pizza into 8 wedges and serve hot. For an added kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes over the slices.
