This Honey Baked Ham recipe is a deliciously succulent and tender main dish that's perfect for your Easter dinner. The ham is coated with a heavenly glaze made from honey, brown sugar, and spices, creating a mouth-watering combination of sweet and savory flavors. As the ham cooks in the oven, the glaze caramelizes and creates a crispy crust on the outside, while the meat inside becomes juicy and flavorful. Whether you're serving a small gathering or a big crowd, this Honey Baked Ham recipe is sure to be a show-stopper.

Ingredients

  • bone-in ham - 9.0 lb
  • honey - 0.5 cup
  • brown sugar - 0.3 cup
  • Dijon mustard - 0.3 cup
  • paprika - 1.0 tsp
  • garlic powder - 0.5 tsp
  • Salt and pepper - 1.0 to taste
12 Servings

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 3250F. Line a large roasting pan with foil and place a rack inside.

Step 2

Remove the ham from its packaging and pat it dry with paper towels. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making cuts about 1/4 inch deep.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, brown sugar, mustard, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush the glaze all over the ham, making sure to get it in the scored crevices.

Step 4

Place the ham on the rack in the roasting pan, and cover it loosely with foil. Bake for 2-3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 1300F.

Step 5

Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 4000F. Brush the ham with more glaze, and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and bubbly.

Step 6

Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before carving. Serve hot or at room temperature.
