Ingredients

  • all-purpose flour - 1.0 cup
  • matcha green tea powder - 2.0 tbsp
  • sugar - 2.0 tbsp
  • baking powder - 1.5 tsp
  • baking soda - 0.5 tsp
  • salt - 0.3 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1.0 cup
  • egg - 1.0 whole
  • unsalted butter - 2.0 tbsp
  • vanilla extract - 0.5 tsp

Cooking Steps

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha green tea powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 3

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Step 4

Preheat a griddle or a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with cooking spray or melted butter.

Step 5

Pour 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the griddle for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.v

Step 6

Transfer the cooked pancakes to a serving plate and cover them with a clean kitchen towel to keep them warm while you cook the remaining pancakes.

Step 7

Serve your Matcha Green Tea Pancakes with your choice of toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
