Ingredients

  • fresh basil leaves - 2.0 cup
  • Parmesan cheese - 0.5 cup
  • pine nuts or walnuts - 0.3 cup
  • garlic - 3.0 pcs
  • extra-virgin olive oil - 0.5 cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • pepper - to taste

Cooking Steps

Step 1

In a food processor or blender, combine fresh basil leaves, grated Parmesan cheese, pine nuts (or walnuts), and minced garlic.

Step 2

Pulse the ingredients a few times until they are coarsely chopped and well combined.

Step 3

While the food processor is running, gradually pour the olive oil into the mixture in a steady stream until the sauce reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.

Step 4

Stop the food processor and scrape down the sides with a spatula, ensuring all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 5

Taste the pesto sauce and season with salt and pepper according to your preference. Pulse again briefly to combine.

Step 6

Transfer the pesto sauce to a jar or airtight container for storage.
