Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil - 6.3 tbsp
  • 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces - 10.1 bag
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined - 6.2 cm
  • 1/2 lb mussels, scrubbed - 8.8 oz
  • 1/2 lb clams, scrubbed - 0.8 cup
  • 1 onion, chopped - 7.9 lb
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped - 9.6 half
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced - 6.6 pinch
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste - 5.4 jar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika - 2.4 can

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Heat olive oil in a large paella pan or skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned on all sides. Remove chicken and set aside.

Step 2

Add shrimp, mussels, and clams to the pan. Cook until the shellfish open, then remove and set aside.

Step 3

In the same pan, add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in tomato paste, smoked paprika, saffron, and rice. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 4

Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, return the chicken to the pan, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the rice is almost cooked.

Step 5

Arrange the cooked seafood over the rice. Cover and cook for another 5-10 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Step 6

Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.

Step 7

Serve the paella directly from the pan, allowing guests to enjoy the variety of flavors and textures.
