This recipe brings a delightful and spicy twist to traditional pasta dishes. The combination of succulent shrimp, fiery chorizo, and a creamy tomato sauce creates a symphony of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. The addition of fresh cilantro adds a refreshing touch, balancing the richness of the sauce. This dish is perfect for a quick yet impressive weeknight dinner or a special occasion. It's relatively easy to prepare, and the bold flavors are sure to please even the most discerning palates. Feel free to adjust the amount of chili flakes to your preferred level of spiciness.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (such as linguine or fettuccine) - 6.0 bottle
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil - 1.6 l
  • 4 ounces chorizo, diced - 7.8 bottle
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined - 9.4 pcs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced - 7.4 mg
  • 1/2 cup diced onion - 7.5 quarter
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more, to taste) - 8.4 to taste
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes - 1.0 tsp
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream - 2.8 fl oz
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro - 3.3 as needed

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced chorizo and cook until browned and crispy.

Step 3

Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque.

Step 4

Stir in minced garlic, diced onions, and red pepper flakes. Cook until onions are translucent.

Step 5

Pour in crushed tomatoes and heavy cream. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water.

Step 7

Stir in chopped fresh cilantro. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately and enjoy!
