Ingredients

  • long-grain white rice - 1.0 cup
  • fresh parsley - 0.5 cup
  • fresh mint - 0.3 cup
  • onion - 1.0 whole
  • garlic - 2.0 pcs
  • extra-virgin olive oil - 2.0 tbsp
  • ground cumin - 1.0 tsp
  • ground allspice - 0.5 tsp
  • Salt - 1.0 to taste
  • pepper - 1.0 to taste

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Rinse grape leaves, trim stems, and separate them.

Step 2

Mix rice, parsley, mint, onion, garlic, spices, olive oil, lemon juice.

Step 3

Place a grape leaf, add filling, fold sides, roll tightly.

Step 4

Arrange dolmas seam-side down in a pot. Squeeze lemon juice, drizzle olive oil, add vegetable broth.

Step 5

Place a plate or lid over dolmas, bring to a boil, then simmer for 30-40 mins.

Step 6

Let dolmas cool in the pot. Serve at room temperature with optional yogurt or tahini sauce. Enjoy!
