A classic comfort dish, this tomato soup is simple, rich, and elevated by fresh basil. Perfect with a side of grilled cheese.

Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 cups vegetable broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Salt and pepper, to taste

Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft.
