Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch cubes - 4.8 half
  • 1 cup plain yogurt - 7.0 bottle
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste - 8.0 tsp
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice - 6.0 inch
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder - 5.9 pcs
  • 1 tsp chili powder - 9.3 half
  • 1 tbsp garam masala - 7.9 pt
  • Salt to taste - 2.0 cm
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil - 4.9 cup
  • 1 large onion, chopped - 9.8 mg

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine cubed chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

Step 2

Prepare the sauce: In a large pan or pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Step 3

Add spices: Stir in tomato paste, diced tomatoes, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, and chili powder. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 4

Cook the chicken: Grill, bake, or pan-fry the marinated chicken until cooked through and slightly charred. Alternatively, you can add the marinated chicken directly to the sauce and simmer until cooked through.

Step 5

Combine chicken and sauce: Add the cooked chicken to the sauce and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Step 6

Add cream and garnish: Stir in heavy cream or coconut milk for a richer flavor. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.

Step 7

Serve: Serve hot with basmati rice or naan bread. Enjoy!

A solid and easy recipe. The sauce was delicious, but it could have used a little more chili. I love the ease of cooking it.

Disappointing. The sauce was too watery and the chicken was tough. I was expecting more based on the reviews.
