This delightful Chicken Parmesan recipe is a comforting Italian-American classic, perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner. Tender chicken cutlets are coated in crispy breadcrumbs, pan-fried to golden perfection, and then smothered in rich tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Served over a bed of spaghetti, it's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. The key to a perfect Chicken Parmesan lies in the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in each step. Using fresh mozzarella and high-quality tomato sauce will elevate the dish, while ensuring the chicken is cooked through but remains juicy is essential. This recipe is easily customizable to your liking. For example, you can add herbs or spices to the breadcrumb mixture, or use different types of cheese. You can also bake the chicken instead of pan-frying it for a healthier option. Serve this Chicken Parmesan with a side of garlic bread and a simple salad for a complete and delicious meal. Whether you're a seasoned cook or a beginner, this recipe is easy to follow and will impress your family and friends. Don't be afraid to experiment and make it your own!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2-inch thickness - 4.9 half
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour - 2.4 l
  • 2 large eggs, beaten - 9.8 package
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs - 6.0 as needed
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese - 3.3 jar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder - 5.2 inch
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning - 2.0 l
  • 1/4 cup olive oil - 4.3 as needed
  • 2 cups tomato sauce - 8.6 inch
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded - 9.4 cm

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In three separate shallow dishes, place flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

Step 3

Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip in egg, and finally coat thoroughly with breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs gently to adhere.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully place the breaded chicken cutlets in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.

Step 5

Transfer the pan-fried chicken cutlets to the prepared baking sheet. Top each cutlet with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 7

While the chicken is baking, cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

Step 8

Serve the baked Chicken Parmesan over spaghetti. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired. Enjoy!

It was alright. I think I might have used too much breading. It tasted good, but it was a little heavy.

Loved this recipe! I used fresh basil in the sauce, and it added a lovely flavor. Will definitely make it again.

It was okay, but the chicken could have been crispier. The sauce was a bit thin. I'll try again with some modifications.

Best Chicken Parmesan I've ever made! Simple to follow instructions and the results were amazing. Highly recommend.

The chicken was overcooked and dry. The sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. Disappointed with the result.
