Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2-inch pieces - 5.0 half
  • 1 teaspoon salt - 1.1 quarter
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper - 10.4 inch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon - 1.0 tbsp
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger - 10.2 jar
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric - 1.7 dash
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil - 4.5 inch
  • 1 medium onion, chopped - 1.9 half
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced - 5.9 pt
  • 1 cup chicken broth - 3.2 drop

Cooking Steps

Step 1

In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, and olive oil. Ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the spices.

Step 2

Heat a large pot or tagine over medium heat. Add the chicken and brown on all sides. Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside.

Step 3

Add the chopped onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

Step 4

Return the chicken to the pot. Add the chicken broth, dried apricots, and honey. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

Step 5

Stir in the toasted almonds and lemon juice. Simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 6

While the tagine is simmering, prepare the couscous according to package instructions.

Step 7

Serve the Moroccan Tagine over a bed of fluffy couscous. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Pretty good. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the best tagine I've had. I thought the sauce could be richer. Otherwise, a nice and easy recipe to follow.

This recipe is a game-changer! The flavors are incredible, and it's relatively easy to make. The almonds give it a wonderful crunch, and the overall taste is unforgettable. This is going into my regular rotation.

Very tasty tagine. The apricots and almonds complemented the chicken beautifully. I added a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little extra heat, and it was delicious.

It was good, but not amazing. I found the sauce a little thin, and the chicken could have used a little more browning before going into the slow cooker. Good overall.

Easy to follow recipe and the flavors were really authentic. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out great. Everyone at the table loved it. Highly recommended!
