This Spicy Shrimp Scampi with Linguine recipe is a delightful twist on the classic Italian dish. It combines succulent shrimp with a zesty, garlicky sauce that has a delightful kick of red pepper flakes. Served over a bed of perfectly cooked linguine, this dish is quick to prepare and bursting with flavor. The combination of seafood and spice makes it a memorable meal that's perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. The use of fresh ingredients enhances the overall taste, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to suit your preferred level of spiciness, making it a versatile dish that can be tailored to individual preferences. The lemon juice adds a touch of brightness, complementing the richness of the shrimp and the savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound linguine - 2.4 dash
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined - 2.3 lb
  • 4 tablespoons butter - 4.9 dash
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil - 8.5 package
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced - 0.6 inch
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste) - 3.6 cm
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine (optional) - 0.9 to taste
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice - 5.4 g
  • Salt and black pepper to taste - 7.9 pcs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley - 1.2 dash

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Cook the linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Step 2

While the pasta is cooking, melt butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 3

Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 4

Pour in the white wine (if using) and lemon juice. Let it simmer for a minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Step 5

Stir in the drained linguine and toss to coat. Add some of the reserved pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.

Step 6

Season with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Serve immediately.

Step 7

Garnish with extra parsley and lemon wedges if desired.

This was a disaster. The shrimp were overcooked, and the sauce was too watery. I followed the recipe as best I could, but it didn't turn out well.
