Marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
Soak basmati rice in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat ghee and oil. Add sliced onions and fry until golden brown. Remove half of the onions and set aside for garnish.
Add the marinated chicken to the pot and cook until it's partially cooked.
Layer half of the rice over the chicken, followed by saffron-infused milk, chopped cilantro, and mint leaves.
Add the remaining rice and top with the reserved fried onions, saffron milk, cilantro, and mint.
Cover the pot tightly and cook on low heat for 45 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the chicken is tender. Serve hot with raita.
Absolutely delicious! The aroma while it was cooking was incredible, and the taste lived up to the hype. The chicken was perfectly tender, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful. Definitely making this again!
The flavor was good, but the presentation could be improved. The layers didn't come out as defined as I'd hoped. Still, the taste was good, and it was a satisfying meal.
The dish was okay, nothing special. It took a long time to prepare. I might have missed something because the flavors weren't as rich as I expected.
Best biryani I've ever tasted! The layers of flavor were incredible. The combination of yogurt-marinated chicken and fragrant rice is simply divine. I followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out perfectly.
It was good. The caramelized onions were a nice touch, but I found the overall flavor a bit mild. Maybe I need to adjust the spice levels to my preference next time.
