This recipe provides a comprehensive guide to creating a lasagna that will impress everyone.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef - 6.9 whole
  • 1 onion, diced - 2.7 drop
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced - 8.1 lb
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes - 4.9 inch
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce - 3.7 kg
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste - 10.4 jar
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning - 0.6 quarter
  • Salt and pepper to taste - 3.7 gal
  • 1/2 cup butter - 4.4 dash
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour - 7.1 l

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat. Add diced onions, minced garlic, and cook until softened. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 2

Make the béchamel sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and nutmeg.

Step 3

Cook the lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and lay flat on a sheet of parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Assemble the lasagna: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer with lasagna noodles, followed by ricotta cheese, a layer of meat sauce, and a drizzle of béchamel sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Step 5

Repeat layers: Continue layering noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, béchamel, and mozzarella until all ingredients are used, ending with a top layer of noodles, meat sauce, béchamel, and a generous amount of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Step 6

Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the lasagna is heated through.

Step 7

Rest: Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the layers to set and makes it easier to cut.

It was good. The lasagna was a bit bland, in my opinion. I think it could use more seasoning in the meat sauce. Otherwise, it was easy to follow.

Good recipe. The meat sauce was very flavorful, and the lasagna was quite easy to make. I would definitely recommend this recipe!

The lasagna was burnt on the edges, and the sauce was too acidic. I think there might have been something wrong with the baking temperature. Not a success.

It was okay. The lasagna was a bit too cheesy for my liking. The meat sauce was good, but the overall dish was a bit heavy.

Great recipe! The béchamel was a highlight. I used a little less salt in the meat sauce, and it turned out beautifully. The lasagna baked perfectly.
