This recipe brings together succulent chicken pieces with a creamy, flavorful sauce enriched with aromatic herbs and sun-dried tomatoes. Served over a bed of perfectly cooked pasta, this dish is perfect for a family dinner or an elegant meal. The combination of tender chicken, savory sauce, and satisfying pasta creates a symphony of flavors that will leave everyone wanting more. The richness of the cream is balanced by the acidity of the tomatoes, and the herbs add a touch of freshness. It’s relatively simple to prepare, making it a great option for both weeknights and special occasions. The ingredients blend perfectly to make every bite a memorable experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 9.1 can
  • 1 teaspoon salt - 5.6 mg
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper - 2.3 cm
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder - 8.1 l
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning - 4.2 lb
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil - 10.3 box
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion - 3.7 gal
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced - 2.3 jar
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, oil-packed, drained and chopped - 0.8 oz
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth - 10.1 pinch

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Step 2

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Stir in the sun-dried tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes to release their flavor.

Step 3

Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it thicken for 5-7 minutes. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Slice the cooked chicken breasts and add them back to the skillet with the sauce. Stir to coat the chicken with the creamy sun-dried tomato sauce. Let it simmer for a few more minutes to heat through.

Step 5

Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the chicken and sauce. Toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy sauce.

Step 6

Serve the Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Pasta immediately. Garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired. Enjoy!

Step 7

This dish pairs well with a side of garlic bread or a fresh garden salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Great recipe! Easy to follow and the taste was outstanding. I added a little bit of red pepper flakes for a kick, and it was perfect.

It was good, but not amazing. The sauce was a little too rich for my taste. The chicken was tender, though. Maybe I'll try adding some lemon zest next time to brighten it up.

A decent meal. It was easy to make, but the flavor wasn't quite as impressive as I'd hoped. I might try adding some extra seasoning next time.
