This classic Chicken Parmesan recipe features crispy, golden-brown chicken breasts smothered in a rich tomato sauce and topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. It's a comforting and satisfying dish that's perfect for a family dinner or a special occasion. The key to the best Chicken Parmesan is ensuring the chicken is well-seasoned and properly breaded for that perfect crispy texture. Serve it with a side of spaghetti or your favorite pasta for a complete and delicious meal that everyone will love. Enjoy this delightful Italian-American favorite!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 9.7 oz
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour - 7.8 l
  • 2 large eggs, beaten - 4.1 ml
  • 2 cups Italian breadcrumbs - 4.6 pinch
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese - 3.4 qt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder - 3.8 tsp
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning - 5.1 as needed
  • Salt and pepper to taste - 1.1 box
  • 1/4 cup olive oil - 8.7 cup
  • 2 cups tomato sauce - 9.5 dash

Cooking Steps

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Step 3

Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.

Step 4

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken breasts for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Do not fully cook the chicken at this stage.

Step 5

Place the partially cooked chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Top each with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Step 6

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the chicken is cooked through.

Step 7

Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired. Serve with your favorite pasta.

It was okay, but I've had better. The chicken was a little dry, even though I didn't overcook it. The sauce was decent.

Pretty good. The chicken was crispy. The sauce was a bit too acidic, so I added a little sugar. Overall, a good meal.

Great recipe. The chicken turned out perfectly crispy and the sauce was flavorful. I added a little extra cheese because, why not?

The recipe was decent, but I felt that it was missing some key elements. I ended up adding oregano and garlic powder to the sauce. It could have been better.

This recipe is a winner. Easy to follow and the results were fantastic. I made a few adjustments, like adding a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat, but overall, it was great!
