Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
In another shallow dish, whisk eggs. Dredge each chicken breast in the eggs, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown. They don't need to be cooked through at this point.
Transfer chicken breasts to the prepared baking sheet. Top each with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and additional Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and chicken is cooked through.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired.
The chicken was a bit dry, but the sauce was delicious. The breading was okay. I will try again, but I will monitor the cooking time closely.
This recipe is amazing! It's my new go-to for chicken parmesan. The flavors are perfect and it's easy to make. Highly recommend!
I found this recipe a bit bland. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. The chicken was also a bit tough. Maybe I overcooked it?
Fantastic! The chicken was cooked perfectly, the breading was crispy, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. A truly comforting meal!
This was a great recipe. I especially liked how juicy the chicken stayed. I added a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a little kick. Would definitely make it again.
