Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and sugar to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in heavy cream or crème fraîche into the tomato sauce. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese. A drizzle of olive oil can be added for extra flavor.
Enjoy your delicious Creamy Tomato Pasta!
Pretty good. I wish the tomato flavor was a bit more pronounced. Maybe roasting the tomatoes first would help.
Perfect! Just perfect! This is the best creamy tomato pasta recipe I've ever tried. The balance of flavors is spot on, and it's so easy to make. Thank you!
Loved it! I added some parmesan cheese on top, and it was absolutely perfect. Easy to adapt to your liking.
