Cook the pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and sugar. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
Stir in the fresh basil.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Good, simple pasta. I added some ground meat for a more filling meal. Easy to follow and the family loved it. A solid recipe.
The sauce was bland. I tried to add some extra herbs and spices to boost the flavor but still, it was not what I expected. Probably won't make this again.
A very good recipe! The creamy texture is spot-on. I made a side salad to go with it and it was a great meal.
One of the best pasta recipes I've ever tried! The creamy tomato sauce is heavenly, and the fresh basil elevates the dish. Highly recommended!
The recipe is simple, and the end result is delicious. I enjoyed the taste, and I would certainly make this again. A good choice for a weeknight.
