Cook the pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and sugar. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
Stir in the fresh basil.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
This recipe is a winner! The creamy tomato sauce is rich and flavorful, and the basil adds a wonderful freshness. My family loved it!
The sauce was a bit too tart for my liking. I might add a pinch of sugar next time to balance the flavors. Otherwise, it was an easy recipe.
The flavor was a bit lacking for me. Maybe more seasoning is needed. I did like how easy it was to make though.
This recipe is a lifesaver! It's so quick to prepare, and the taste is incredible. The best part is how simple it is to make.
Delicious and easy to make. I added some parmesan cheese for extra flavor. A great recipe for a quick dinner.
