In a bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, chili powder, cumin, coriander, and salt. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange marinated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through. Alternatively, grill or pan-fry the chicken.
In a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute.
Add tomato puree, diced tomatoes, garam masala, cumin, coriander, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in heavy cream and butter. Mix well and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Add the baked/grilled chicken pieces to the sauce. Stir to coat the chicken evenly. Simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve hot with naan bread or rice.
It was good, but not quite what I expected. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste, although the chicken was flavorful. Next time, I might add a bit more chili powder to balance the sweetness.
Delicious! This recipe is easy to follow and the end result is simply fantastic. The balance of spices is perfect, and the creamy sauce is to die for. Highly recommend this recipe for anyone craving an amazing Chicken Tikka Masala.
