Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and chopped fresh basil. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat, adding a little of the reserved pasta water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.

Very good and easy. The sauce was very tasty and creamy. I added some sun-dried tomatoes for a bit more flavor, and it was delicious!
Nice and simple recipe. I added some mushrooms and it was fantastic. The sauce was very creamy and flavorful. Good for a weeknight meal.
Amazing! The sauce is so smooth and flavorful. The fresh basil really makes this dish. It's a quick and easy weeknight meal that everyone will love.
Not a fan. The sauce tasted a bit too acidic for my liking. Maybe a touch of sugar would help balance it out.
Simple and tasty pasta. The sauce was a little too thick for my preference, but it was still a delicious meal. I'd use less cream next time.
