Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and chopped fresh basil. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat, adding a little of the reserved pasta water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
Enjoy your delicious Creamy Tomato and Basil Pasta!
Very easy to make. The flavors are great, although I would have liked it if there was a bit more basil. I used a different pasta shape, and it was delicious as well.
It was okay. The flavors were good, but it was a little bland. I think it could use some salt and pepper, and maybe some red pepper flakes for a kick.
I loved this recipe! It's so flavorful and easy to make. The fresh basil makes all the difference. Will definitely be making this again.
A fairly average pasta dish. The flavor was good, but nothing spectacular. It would probably benefit from a little bit of spice.
Really enjoyed this recipe. The creamy sauce was the highlight. I added some grilled chicken to make it a complete meal. Will definitely recommend it.
