Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream and chopped fresh basil. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat, adding a little of the reserved pasta water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese.
Enjoy your delicious Creamy Tomato and Basil Pasta!
It was okay. The recipe is easy, but it lacked a bit of depth of flavor. Perhaps some onions could improve it.
Outstanding! The flavors were perfect. It's so easy to make, and it tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen. Highly recommend this recipe.
It was a decent meal. The sauce was a little plain, but it was easy to make. I might try adding some garlic next time for extra flavor.
Best pasta I've ever made! The basil really shines through, and the creaminess is just perfect. Simple and delicious. Five stars!
I didn't really enjoy this recipe. The taste wasn't quite what I expected, and the sauce was too watery. It was a bit bland overall.
