Mexican cuisine

This is a traditional Mexican bread pudding served during Lent. It is commonly made with piloncillo (Mexican brown sugar).

3 cup of brown sugar, divided
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cup of butter, softened
2 loaves white bread, toasted
1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon, or to taste
1/4 tsp of ground nutmeg, or to taste
1/4 tsp of ground cloves, or to taste
2 cup of raisins
2 cup of peanuts
1 lbs of shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
